Management Analysis
Key activities for 2005-06 in the area
of data and management analysis include:
- Management Analysis and Planning: Supported
analyses of targeted degree proposals and y-axis plans. Developed
detailed enrollment analyses at regional campuses and established
a strong cooperative working relationship with new analyst in
office of regional campuses. Developed critical analysis of
enrollment patterns by major for community college transfer
students. Provided direct support to PeopleSoft, RDS, and university
data warehouse development. Developed comprehensive model to
identify feasible course schedules by major to support the Graduate
on Track (GOT) initiative. Developed comprehensive model for
characterizing UCF employees used in Economic Impact Study and
displayed on IR web site. Developed prototype model for creating
four-year program of study for individual majors.
- Exploratory Data Analysis and Studies: Conducted
data analyses to support presentations to the UCF Board of Trustees
and the Florida Board of Governors. Supported faculty contract
negotiations with faculty salary market equity studies. Developed
salary increase distribution models for all employee classes.
Conducted analysis of NSSE results. UAPS completed its first
Departmental Performance Review, a comprehensive review of the
mission, objectives, accomplishments, costs, and future plans
for the office. This initial DPR was one of the first conducted
outside of the SDES area as a prototype for potential expansion
to all university administrative and educational support units.
Continuing activities and New Initiatives
include:
- Enrollment Planning: Continue the facilitation
of the enrollment planning group leading to the development
of a 20-year strategic enrollment plan. Conduct revision of
graduate and unclassified sections of enrollment prediction
model. Develop initiatives to improve targeted degree production.
Develop Markov-type model for estimating college and program
enrollment levels. Develop comprehensive enrollment management
system for Orlando and regional campuses by program and level.
- Management Analysis and Planning: Conduct analysis
of PhD completion process. Complete full development of model
to identify feasible course paths for the GOT program. Continue
development of model to identify four-year programs of study
based on planned offerings of individual courses. Develop meaningful
benchmarking procedures for university and aspirational peers.
Support program benchmarking initiatives. Develop key performance
indicators for the university. Develop a comprehensive set of
university performance indicators and incorporate in a balanced
scorecard model. Initiate a comprehensive cost analysis study
to determine program costs.
- Exploratory Data Analysis and Studies: Explore
activity based costing models for educational application. Conduct
broad based retention studies for both undergraduate and graduate
levels.
